The US President, Donald Trump blames the EU for not acting quickly enough to contain coronavirus and he claims virus clusters were “seeded” European’s.

All fights from mainland Europe are now suspended for 30 days following the rapid spread of coronavirus globally.

The flight ban starts from midnight on Friday but the ban will not apply to the UK.

A Homeland Security spokesman said, “These countries, known as the Schengen Area, include: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.”

Trump said: “We made a lifesaving move with early action on China. Now we must take the same action with Europe.”

Charles Michel, president of the European Council tweeted his reaction, “Following the travel ban @realDonaldTrump announced, we will assess the situation today.

“Economic disruption must be avoided. #Europe is taking all necessary measures to contain the spread of the #COVID19 virus, limit the number of affected people and support research.”

American and Chinese scientist have given a grim warning saying, the true number of cases in the US are far higher than the confirmed 1,056 cases.

The scientists from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Peking University in Beijing released a report warning that eight confirmed coronavirus cases left Wuhan, China to the US before January.

They have provided a conservative rate that it is most likely they have each passed it on to at least two people, therefore it is more likely 9,484 people would have been infected in the US by 1 March.

The US and Chinese scientists said they simulated the coronavirus outbreak using confirmed numbers, that 20 people in America had the virus by 29 February.

From those 20 infected people eight did visit Wuhan, China before they returned back to America.
