Essex-based entrepreneur, Reece Mennie, has been shortlisted by the prestigious 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards in recognition of his success in scaling property development firm, HJ Collection.
Widely regarded as the ‘Grammy’s of Entrepreneurship’, the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards shine a spotlight on the founders proactively shaping the UK economy through ambitious, resilient and innovative businesses, across 18 categories in 10 different regions.
The founder and CEO of multiple successful businesses within the property sector, Reece’s entrepreneurial journey commenced at just 16 when he left school to help his father grow his print business.
Since launching HJ Collection in 2019, Reece has successfully scaled the business from a start-up into an established and reputable nationwide developer with a gross development value [GDV] in excess of £120 million.
Now boasting a team of 35 passionate property development specialists, the HJ Collection portfolio spans 15 different sites all developed through its own end-to-end turnkey solution whereby the entire construction process is managed in house.
Focused on building HJ Collection into one of the largest privately-owned property development firms in the UK, Reece is on track to scale growth by a further 25% within the next 12 months alone.
It is this level of business growth and ambition that has earnt Reece a place as a 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards finalist, where he is shortlisted for ‘Scale up Entrepreneur of the Year’ for the East of England.
