The EU has been dealt with yet another blow with their vaccine rollout as Johnson & Johnson are facing supply issues of 55m doses to be delayed.

The American drugs giant warned EU officials that there will be supply issues of around 55m doses, and told Brussels the shipment is under stress due to ingredients and equipment used with the manufacturing process.

The pharmaceutical company have committed to deliver 200m doses of the one dose vaccine to the EU this year, and EU regulators are expected to approve the jab this week.

Johnson & Johnson said, “Aligned with our agreement, we expect to begin supplying our commitment of 200m doses to the European Union in the second quarter of 2021.”
