Record temperatures have soared above 40c across Europe on Thursday as the Saharan bubble has hit Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain and France.
The UK has soaring temperatures on Thursday and the mercury could reach 40c on Saturday.

Over the next three days temperatures are expected to hit 40c in the UK, with London and the South East possibly seeing the warmest temperatures.

On Wednesday Spanish meteorologist Silvia Laplana described the situation as “hell” and she added, “Of course in summer it is hot, but when we talk about a heatwave so extensive and intense, which, predictably, will break records, that is NOT normal.”
