According to the New York Times the US President Joe Biden is allegedly thinking of providing Ukraine with nuclear weapons after Kyiv gave their up and the end of the Soviet Union which has made them vulnerable.

Vladimir Putin has said during a meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan, Moscow “will not allow this” to happen.

“In this case, we will accept and use everything, I want to emphasise this, namely all the means of destruction at Russia‘s disposal,” the dictator said.

“If someone officially transfers something, then it will mean a violation of all the obligations assumed in the area of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,” he added.

“Well, we will not allow this to happen to Ukraine itself. We will monitor every step of what is happening there.”

The Kremlin has hit out saying this is an act of “ultra-extremist” to provide Kyiv with nuclear weapons and it is “absolutely irresponsible.”

The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, “Even the most provocative policies aimed at escalating tensions have a highly extremist aspect. So, probably, this viewpoint belongs to this ultra-extremist flank.”

Peskov told reporters, “These are absolutely irresponsible arguments of people who have a poor understanding of reality and who do not feel a shred of responsibility when making such statements. We also note that all of these statements are anonymous.”

On Wednesday Putin placed the Satan II intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on “combat duty” which can carry 16 nuclear warheads and has a range of 11,000 miles.

This comes after Putin approved a new nuclear doctrine which implies a nuclear strike could happen if there is “aggression against the Russian Federation and its allies by a non-nuclear state with the support of a nuclear state” using massive aerial non-nuclear attacks such as using drones.

Putin will now consider aggression by a non-nuclear state as a joint attack by the West if it is supported and the strike has been with the participation of a nuclear armed country.

Putin has said that Russia does not need a preventative strike in their nuclear deterrence policy “because, in a retaliatory strike, the enemy will be guaranteed to be destroyed.

Russian Strategic Missile Forces Commander, Colonel General Sergey Karakaye said on Wednesday, “As of today, fifth-generation Yars and Avangard missile systems have been introduced in the Strategic Missile Forces.
