The former MI6 spy chief Sir Richard Dearlove has said the UK is not in a “pre-war phase” as we are already in an “actual war” with Russia.
This is in response to the Polish Prime Minister who said this week that Europe is in a “pre-war era” and the bloc is in its most “dangerous point since 1945.”
Donald Tusk warned NATO allies that the threat of a world war is now “serious and real” and Ukraine is at a “decisive phase” and the” unknown is approaching.”
Speaking to Sky News the former spy chief said, “Donald Tusk has referred to it as a pre-war situation. I think he’s wrong. I think it’s an actual war.

“I think we have to face up to the fact that the Russians think they’re in a state of war with us.
“We’ve seen already quite clearly some very aggressive moves on the part of the Russians in various European countries.”
He said he is not against engaging in peace negotiations with Vladimir Putin, however he believes that the Russian leader is in the “mood or situation” to have such conversations.
He said, “I think we’re in a very difficult situation, and Russia is probably better to have some sort of dialogue with them than no contact at all. So I don’t rule that out.
“But I think at the moment, I’m not sure Russia is in a mood or a situation where it’s going to be very easy to talk to Putin.”
The former head of MI6, warned that Labour is not showing any urgency of growing threats to the UK and he is “deeply worried” with this “new government.”
This comes as the Defence Secretary John Healey announced there will £500 million in defence cuts to the British Armed Forces, hours after Russia warned the UK armed conflict.
