Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine on Thursday targeting the country’s energy infrastructure leaving almost 1 million without power.
The Ukrainian Air Forced issues a nationwide wide alert warning “due to the threat of missiles danger” as Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers took off and explosions were reported across many cities.
Kyiv’s Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that Russian air strikes were “taking place all over Ukraine” and people affected by power cuts have been told to take shelter and emergency power is in use.

Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration said, “The missiles approached Kyiv from different directions,” adding that all aerial targets were shot down causing debris to fall over the cities.
Halushchenko said that Russia hit Ukraine with a “massive blow” as the attacks were all aimed at the energy infrastructure across the country.
Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office said Russia is deliberately stockpiling weapons from North Korea, Iran and China to attack the energy infrastructure during the winter months to freeze Ukrainians into submission.
Yermak said, “They stockpiled missiles for strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, for warfare against civilians during the cold, during the winter.”
