Police lockdown area by St Pauls Cathedral and urge public to ‘avoid the area’

Police had closed off a street next St Pauls Cathedral in the City of London after a suspicious vehicle is parked next to One New Change.

Police are telling people to the “avoid the area” and nearby roads were closed.

City of London Police said on Twitter: “A cordon is being put in place while officers investigate a suspicious vehicle parked near One New Change in the #City.

“Nearby roads will be affected and some buildings. Please avoid the area if you can. Updates to follow.”

Police said in an update that the vehicle was “no longer a threat.”

City police tweeted, “The vehicle has been checked and is no longer a threat. Roads will be re-opening shortly. Thank you for your patience.”
