Jaguar Land Rover to build electric cars in the UK


Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) are to build a range of electric cars in the UK protecting thousands of jobs and delivering a boost to the industry.

Castle Bromwich in the West Midlands and other sites and supply companies are to benefit from the investment. Castl Bromwich site will be closed for six weeks whilst JLR install new machinery.

The first all electric version of the Jaguar XJ Sedan will be the first battery powered car.

Dr Ralph Speth, chief executive of JLR said, “The future of mobility is electric and as a visionary British company, we are committed to making our next generation of zero-emission vehicles in the UK.”
