People arriving at the Port of Dover for cross-Channel sailings are facing three hour queues to pass through French border controls.

Those who have missed their booked ferries will be placed on the next available sailing space as the Port of Dover are facing high demand as thousands are making trips to France.

The Kent port said, “We are working hard to get you on your way as quickly as possible.”

Following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU has led to significantly increased processing times, due to Enhanced passport checks by French border officials Police Aux Frontieres (PAF)
