On Tuesday morning Airbus shares rose 2.4% after they signed a £25.7bn deal, to sell 300 aircraft to China.
Airbus will sell 290 A320 models and 10 A350 XWB planes to China Aviation Supplies Holding Company.
Guillaume Faury, president of Airbus’ commercial aircraft division said, “We are honoured to support the growth of China’s civil aviation with our leading aircraft families, single aisle and widebodies.
“Our expanding footprint in China demonstrate our lasting confidence in the Chinese market and our long-term commitment to China and our partners.”
The deal was signed by Xi Jinping the Chinese president as he was visiting French president Emmanuel Macron in France.
