Vladimir Putin is “withering” after there has been three assassination attempts on his life in in just a fortnight.

The former US Defence Secretary, James Mattis  said Russia is “withering before our eyes” and claimed the invasion in Ukraine is “pathetic” and hit out at the “immoral” and “operationally stupid” war.

Mattis said, “We have a saying in America, we say that nations with allies thrive, nations without allies wither and we’re watching Russia wither before our eyes right now.
