Car manufacturers set to resume production

Honda have confirmed they are to re-start car production from next month and employees and suppliers have been informed.

Manufacturing operation will resume on 1 June at the Swindon plant after being stopped when the lockdown was introduced by the government on 23 March.

Jaguar Land Rover are to resume with up to 2,000 workers at their Solihull factory on Monday, and the engine plant resumed work this week.

Ford are to restart production across the UK on the 18 May at their engine plants in Dagenham, Essex, and Bridgend in South Wales.

Aston Martin resumed a phased return at the manufacturing plant in St Athan, South Wales.
