Brexit deal is not dead, insists Theresa May

Theresa May has insisted that her Brexit deal is not dead despite reports suggesting that talks between PM and the EU leaders had closed down.

May dismissed reports of a frosty exchange with Juncker and instead clarified that they had had a robust discussion, adding: “I think that’s the sort of discussion you are able to have when you have developed a working relationship and you work well together.”

She also said he had been talking about “the general level of debate” when he used the term “nebulous”.

The PM also said there would be further discussions in the coming days.
