A train carrying over 300 passengers has been stopped by police, as a suspected coronavirus patient is on board.

Police in Germany stopped the Frankfurt Central-bound Inter City Express in Frankfurt-Süd, and a man who is ill has been isolated on the train.

On Wednesday Germany’s disease control agency announced there are now 240 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country.

Fifteen of sixteen federal states have now been infected with the virus with the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia being most affected.

German police later said it was a false alarm and the train continued on to its final destination.

On Tuesday the health secretary also revealed that the police will arrest people who are ill and refuse to self-Isolate, whist Border Force will be given greater powers at airport and ports.
