Just to clarify— this is not an April Fool’s prank. Sports giant Adidas has teamed up with Transport for London (TfL) to release a new range of Tube-inspired trainers.

The first batch of trainers – the Stan Smith, Samba Rose, Falcon and Gazelle— have been inspired by the Elizabeth Line as well as the rest of the network.

Each pair is £75 and available from 10 December. Prices on the Elizabeth line exclusives vary from £75-£85.

Of the collab, Gavin Thomson, senior vice president of Western Europe region at Adidas, said, “London is a city bubbling with creativity from a population constantly moving forwards. TfL and the underground network make that possible. True to Adidas Originals’ principles, the collaboration takes its inspiration from the past, present and future to celebrate the heritage and unity of London’s creators. United by TFL, told by Originals.”

This is not the first time TfL has collaborated with a footwear brand. It worked with Nike in 2016 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Johnston typeface.
