Ford managers to strike over pay

Ford managers who are members of Unite across the UK are set to strike this month over a dispute in pay.

Unite members at Ford sites at Stratford, Dagenham, Daventry, Dunton and Halewood will see their managers to start an overtime ban on 14 June.

If the dispute is not resolved then Ford managers have threatened industrial action.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said, โ€œNot content with making billions in profits, Ford has decided to try and attack our membersโ€™ pay out of sheer corporate greed.

โ€œPerformance related payments give no guarantee of an actual pay rise and leave these workers in danger of facing cuts to their wages.

โ€œThey are absolutely right to take industrial action and they have the full support of Unite in doing so.โ€

Ford said in a statement, โ€œWe regret that it has resulted in this outcome considering the fair and balanced offer made and the competitiveness of our LL6 pay and benefits package.

โ€œWe will continue to engage with Unite and our employees and endeavour to resolve the matter.โ€
