Scientists across the globe have voiced their fears of a serious second coronavirus wave which could reinstate lockdowns.
The grim warning comes after Boris Johnson is set to ease lockdown measures on Monday. Other countries including, New Zealand, Germany, Italy and America are gradually lifting restrictions.
Experts are warning that if proper measures are not in place this will lead to a second and more deadly wave of coronavirus.
“If we relax these measures without having the proper public health safeguards in place, we can expect many more cases and, unfortunately, more deaths,” said Josh Michaud, associate director of global health policy with the Kaiser Family Foundation in Washington.
Germany and France have drawn up “re-confinement plans” ready for a possible resurgence of coronavirus.
