Donald Trump is the 1/6 favourite to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election ahead of Monday night’s Iowa Caucus.

Nikki Hayley is 7/1 to become the Republican nominee, while Ron DeSantis, who was thought to be Trump’s main competitor, is the 49/1 outsider alongside Vivek Ramaswamy.

Joe Biden is the odds-on 4/11 favourite to become the Democratic nominee, with Michelle Obama in second at 11/1 and Gavin Newsom following closely behind at 12/1.

Trump is the current 11/8 favourite to return to the White House for a second time, with current President Joe Biden 11/5 to retain his position in Washington.

Betfair Exchange spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “Donald Trump is the 1/6 overwhelming favourite to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election ahead of the highly-anticipated Iowa Caucus on Monday night.

“The Iowa Caucus is seen as the first indicator of who will represent the Republican party in the 2024 Presidential Election in nine months’ time. With Trump being the heavy favourite, he has seen daylight open up between himself and rival Ron DeSantis, who has seen his chances of becoming Republican nominee slip from 11/1 to 49/1 since early 2023.

“Donald Trump is the 11/8 favourite to return to the White House for a second time, while Joe Biden is hot on his tail at 11/5 to retain his place in Washington.”
