All those battling the chilly Icelandic air, we have some news. First significant snowfall of the season is almost here!
Snow is set to blanket northern parts of England from Friday this week, when an area of low pressure will push in from the west, running into cold air on the eastern side of the country.
‘It’s a cold start out there today and there are some icy stretches around,’ Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell added.
Temperatures could fall to -6C (21F) in isolated areas tomorrow night, and drop even further to -8C (17F) in the Highlands towards the end of the week, further media reports added.
Over the next few days, the weather is expected to split between the east and west. ‘Western areas will some wet and windy weather at times as low pressure tries to edge its way in,’ Mitchell said.
