Squeezing in emergency chairs around the dinner table this Christmas is not the only thing Brits are rearranging this festive season, as new research from Argos shows that 77 per cent of households can’t find space for a Christmas tree.
Yet such is the nation’s love for the traditional tree, 76 per cent will sacrifice furniture to fit one in their home, and a whopping 84 per cent of Christmas-obsessed Brits are willing to sit on the floor if it means they can have a Christmas tree.
To help space-strapped Brits who can’t face a festive season without a tree, Argos has launched its first half Christmas tree that’s designed for Christmas-loving Brits who are short on space.
Standing at 6ft tall, the Pre-Lit Half Christmas Tree sits flush to against the wall and takes up half the space and half the decorations of a regular tree.
Good news for the fifth of households who told Argos they have given up decorating the back of the Christmas tree (18 per cent) because they don’t see the point, and almost half of over 60’s (45 per cent) who say their Christmas tree makes their home feel too cramped.
A tree that’s half the hassle to decorate should lift the Christmas spirits of the 37 per cent of Brits who say they find it very stressful to fit in a Christmas tree, and 22 per cent who don’t enjoy decorating it at all.
The Habitat 6ft Pre-Lit Half Christmas Tree is available at argos.co.uk priced at £55.
