The UK has recorded a further 4,926 coronavirus cases in the UK which is the highest daily figure since 7 May, with a further 37 deaths, which is the highest 24 hour figure since 14 July.
England recorded 4,187, with 383 in Scotland, 281 in Wales and 75 in Northern Ireland.
The overall confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK now stands at 403,551, with a total of 41,825 deaths according to government figures.
However, separate agencies have recorded 57,600 deaths in the UK which places the UK with the highest death toll in Europe.
