The department for health has announced on Thursday that two more people have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total to 15 in the UK.
A primary school and a GP surgery are closed as one person travelled back from Tenerife and the second person returned from Italy, both have tested positive for the virus.
Buxton medical practice said they are closed due to a confirmed case.
In a statement the surgery said, “We have a confirmed case of coronavirus, we are liaising with Public Health England the CCG to ensure all appropriate actions are taken. Please do not come to the practice.”
Chief medical officer Chris Whitty said the infections had been passed on in Italy and on the popular holiday destination of Tenerife.
In a statement the chief medical officer said, “Two further patients in England have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of UK cases to 15.
“The virus was passed on in Italy and Tenerife and the patients have been transferred to specialist NHS infection centres in Royal Liverpool Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital, London.”
