Travellers are facing severe disruptions as motorways are closed and there are long queues for cross Channel journeys.

In Kent the Port of Dover has warned that it is taking around 90 minutes to process pre-booked tickets for cars which has been attributed by the French strikes on the Channel Tunnel.

Junctions 8 and 9 on the coastbound direction on the M20 motorway is closed due to Operation Brock, National Highways has warned that this is causing delays of up to 45 minutes.

Motorists have been advised to travel before 11am or after 6pm to reduce the risk of being caught in traffic.

Hotspots have been identified at junction 7 on the M23, junction 16 on the M40 and anti-clockwise between junction 17 and 12 on the M3.
