Sunak ‘is finished’ as for Boris there is ‘absolutely no question’ he will survive there are ‘fifty fines now but who gives a damn’

A Tory MP has warned that the Chancellor Rishi Sunak “is finished” but there is “absolutely no question” Boris Johnson will survive as that “threat has long passed.”

Downing Street revealed that Johnson was fined for attending his own birthday party, a No 10 spokesman said on Tuesday, “The Met Police have now explained that the FPN issued to the PM will be in relation to the following incident:

“On June 19 2020 at the Cabinet Room, 10 Downing Street, between 14:00 and 15:00 you participated in a gathering of two or more people indoors in the Cabinet Room at 10 Downing Street.”

A Tory source told Express.co.uk, that the Chancellor could be out of kicked out of government shortly after Brits head to the polls for the local elections on 5 May.

The Tory source said, “I think Rishi is finished and will either resign or be shuffled post-locals.

“His lack of loyalty to the Prime Minister over partygate has come back to haunt him.

“Chinese proverb – wait long enough and the bodies of your enemies will float by!

“Boris has not initiated it. This is karma.”

When asked if Johnson could survive the partygate fine, the Tory source added, “Absolutely no question.

“That threat has long passed. Fifty fines now but who gives a damn.

“Partygate has passed by with just a few headaches now.”

The ex-Tory MP and former Chief of Staff to Theresa May said on Twitter, “If the Prime Minister accepts the penalty notice, he is admitting he broke the law and lied.

“He won’t resign (though Sunak might), so whether he stays is in the hands of Conservative MPs.

“What they decide will define their and the party’s reputation for the forseeable future.”
