Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said during her daily press briefing that a total of 558 people has tested positive for coronavirus.
This is a new daily record for Scotland which now bring the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 26,518.
On Wednesday Scotland recorded 486, which was then the highest on record. Greater Glasgow and Clyde recorded 255 cases, with 119 in Lothian and 61 in Lanarkshire.
No deaths were reported, and the total death toll remains at 2,510.
This comes as on Friday the chief medical officers of all four UK nations released a statement warning “we are seeing the start of a second wave.”
The chief medical officers are asking people across the UK to follow the rules for our “safety.”
