Ryanair and Wizz Air saw passenger numbers rise

Ryanair and Wizz Air saw their passenger numbers rise in February.

Ryanair carries 11.1 million passengers in February which is an increase of 5% from 10.6 million who flew in the same period last year.

Wizz Air announced they saw a 15.8% increase in passengers in February compared to the same period last year of 4.4 million.

Wizz Air said their load factor was 90% which as “impacted by reallocated Israel capacity” and both airlines cancelled flights due to the Israel and Hamas conflict and Ryanair had cancelled 800 flight in February.

The company said, “Wizz Air continues to consistently report the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km among competitor airlines, with 52.0 grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 29 February 2024.”
