US regulators have said on Wednesday that the one shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine is “safe and effective” and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) have said it is in the line up to be approved for emergency use.
FDA will meet on Friday to decide if the one shot vaccine which has shown to be between 66% and 88% effective will be approved for public use.
Johnson & Johnson plan to make 1bn doses and the British government have ordered 30m doses of the vaccine.
Also Pfizer has said today that their vaccine can be stored at standard freezer temperature for up to two weeks, which will bring a boost to the rollout.
