A military airfield in the Moscow region has been rocked by explosions as “unknown saboteurs” have blown up two planes and a helicopter.

This has caused “hysteria” in the “highest military corridors” after the Chkalovsky military airfield was attacked in a very well planned operation.

Russian security forces are taking measures to search for saboteurs and they are limiting the dissemination of information over the attacks with local media.

The Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said on the Telegram channel, “At Chkalovsky airfield, a group of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating sabotage, as a result of which two planes and one helicopter were significantly damaged on September 18, 2023.

“The event caused great hysteria in the highest military corridors – government aircraft, the so-called ‘doomsday planes’ and special aircraft (reconnaissance aircraft).”

Ukrainian intelligence said unknown saboteurs at a heavily guarded airfield planted explosives and blew up AN-148 and IL-20 aircraft, which belonged to the 354th Special Purpose Aviation Regiment.

Also in the attack an MI-28N helicopter, which was previously used in shooting down Ukrainian attack drones over Moscow region.

The Main Intelligence Agency added, “The damage to the aircraft will not allow us to count on their quick recovery.

“The tail section of the helicopter was damaged by the explosion.

“Another AN-148, which was parked next to others, received minor damage.

“The punitive authorities of the Russian Federation are taking measures to search for saboteurs and limit the dissemination of information in local media about the event.”
