Armed police have rushed to a scene in Glasgow city centre where several people have been killed and a police officer has been stabbed.
According to witnesses, people who were left bloodied were being taken on stretchers, they told Sky News.
Paramedics in hazmat suits were treating a person who was bleeding heavily on a pavement, on George Street.

Home Secretary Priti Patel tweeted, “Deeply alarming reports coming from Glasgow. Please follow police advice and avoid the area. Thoughts are with the emergency services as they continue to respond to this incident.”
Greater Glasgow Police said on Twitter, “Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident on West George Street in Glasgow.
“The street is currently closed off and the public are asked to avoid the area at present. The situation is contained at this time and there is no danger to the general public.”

Footage shows more than 10 police cars at the scene with armed police and sniffer dogs on West George Street.
A witness reported there was “lots of shouting and a huge number of paramedics in hazmat suits.”
A traffic information bulletin issued by Glasgow City Council said, “Due to a serious police incident the following roads are currently closed until further notice.”

An eyewitness told Sky News, “I saw people treated with blood on them. People coming out of the hotel with police shouting put your hands up. There were police cars and ambulances all over the street.”
Heart Radio reporter Jack Foster said: “Armed police have been inside the Park Inn on West George St in Glasgow for around an hour now, lots of people have been evacuated, and clearly several badly injured.
“Police advise staying away from the area.”

BBC Scotland reporter Catriona Renton wrote, “West George Street major incident. Understood three dead in a stairwell of hotel. Had been stabbed. Police shot suspect.”

The Scottish Police Federation wrote on Twitter, “We are aware of reports a police officer has been stabbed in an incident in #Glasgow city centre.
“Our officials are in attendance to provide all necessary support. Please allow our collages the space to do their jobs. Further updates will be provided when we are able to do so.”
