The Irish government are expected to announce new tougher restrictions on Monday, after scientists recommended the country moves to “level five restrictions.”
The level five restrictions are similar to the full lockdown imposed in March, which all non-essential shops closed, pubs, bars and restaurants were closed, although schools will stay open.
People will be told to stay within 5km of their home and they will not be allowed to meet with people from other households.
MPs are meeting with health leaders before a full cabinet meeting which is being held this afternoon, where the level five measures will be discussed.
