InPost launches ‘Send’ to transform the UK postal market

InPost is shaking up the UK postal market with the launch of its new ‘Send’ service.

Send is InPost’s first customer-to-customer parcel delivery service, offering a cheaper, more convenient alternative to traditional postal options – like Royal Mail.

Consumers can send parcels from locker to locker, to a pick-up/drop-off point, or direct to a home address – all without a label and with simple, transparent pricing starting from £1.99 vs Royal Mail’s £3.25.

This is a significant milestone for InPost as it expands beyond lockers into a full-service logistics provider in the UK. It follows the company’s £600m investment commitment and the recent acquisition of Menzies Distribution, solidifying its control over first, middle, and last-mile delivery.

Additionally, InPost partnered with Yodel in October 2024 for to-door deliveries from lockers, where Yodel manages parcels through the InPost ‘locker-to-door’ service. This partnership enhances InPost’s offering to e-commerce retailers and strengthens its position as a leader in the UK parcel delivery market.

With the UK postal market facing increasing scrutiny over service and reliability, InPost’s tech-driven, flexible model offers a fresh alternative that better meets today’s consumer expectations.

Neil Kuschel, CEO of InPost UK commented: “Send marks a pivotal moment for both InPost and the wider UK postal market, bringing the parcel experience up to date with consumers’ lifestyles.

“We are proud to introduce this new service that directly meets those needs and drives increased competition in the industry. This new service, paired with our easy to use app, complements our leading UK service and continued investment, demonstrating InPost’s commitment to continually modernising parcel delivery and driving innovation in the industry.”
