Hamas intensifies attacks with a ‘huge rocket barrage’ in central Israel

Hamas have intensified their attacks into Israeli cities on Monday morning and emergency services have said that “huge rocket barrage” has started.

Israeli media are reporting the rocket strikes are coming out of the Gaza Strip and Red Alert sirens can be heard ringing out cross cities in the country.

Israeli emergency services said, “In response to the recent Red Alert sirens sounded throughout Israel, Magen David Adom teams have been dispatched to reported impacted sites.

“As of now, there are no known casualties.”

The Iron Dome air defence system is in operation and loud explosions can be heard across the capital of Jerusalem.

On Monday morning Israeli TV is reporting that the largest ever draft in history is taking place as more than 300,000 reservists have been called up.

Footage posted by Asslan Khalil says, “Crazy rocket barrage right now in Otef, Tel Aviv, Sderot, Ashkelon, Petah Tikva, Ramat Gan, Ramat Hasharon, Jerusalem, Herzliya, Bnei Brak.”

Israel estimates that they have killed at least 400 Hamas fighters and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) overnight in air strikes.

The Israeli Air Force said in a statement that they have conducted more than 800 air strikes in the Gaza Strip over a 20 hour period.

“At the same time as the airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, tens of thousands of IDF soldiers under the command of IDF commanders continue to cleanse the area surrounding Gaza of terrorists.”

Between 50 and 60 fighter jets were used in each sortie adding, “In total, with the opening of the third day of the war, the Israeli air force destroyed approximately 1,200 targets in the Gaza Strip, along its length and breadth.

“At any given moment, there are dozens of aircraft over the Gaza Strip.”
