British Airways (BA) has announced they have suspended all flights to and from China for two days due to the coronavirus outbreak. Flights are still operating to and from Hong Kong.
The decision by the airline comes after the Foreign & Commonwealth Office has warned against all but essential travel to China.
In a statement, BA said, “We have suspended all flights to and from mainland China with immediate effect following advice from the Foreign Office against all but essential travel.”
BA added, “We apologise to customers for the inconvenience, but the safety of our customers and crew is always our priority,” BA said in an emailed statement.
“Customers due to travel to or from China in the coming days can find more information on BA.com.”
The death toll has increased to 132 and over 5,000 people are now confirmed infected.
