Britain and EU’s Brexit deal is “within our sights”, Brexit minister Dominic Raab told lawmakers today as he was questioned on the progress of the government’s Brexit negotiations.

Asked by lawmakers whether a deal would be reached at an EU summit in October, Raab insisted that remained his goal, but that there was “a measure of leeway” over the exact timetable.

Last week, Raab had said he was confident of reaching a deal when he was setting out government advice to businesses on how to prepare for any failure to do so before Britain leaves on March 29.
