Berlin hit with an ‘Islamist extremist attack’

Berlin was hit with an “Islamist extremist attack” on Tuesday evening after an Iraqi man allegedly drove into cars causing a series of crashes injuring six people.

The 30-year old Iraqi man drove into several vehicles including a motorbike on Berlin’s motorway, with one person left in a life threatening condition.

Germany’s public prosecutor’s office told news agency dpa said, “According to the current state of our investigation, this was an Islamist-motivated attack.”

The suspect is being investigated for attempted murder and reports suggest the man is suffering from psychological problems.

It was also reported that a box on the car roof contained explosives, after specialist officers search the box only tools were found.
