Apple today released updates to its entry-level Macs but also increased prices of its desktop computers.
The tech giant, that has reached 100m active Mac users, said that the new MacBook Air is the first big redesign of Apple’s popular laptop since 2010.
New features include a high-definition 13.3-inch Retina display and thinner bezels that reduce the notebook’s overall volume by 17 per cent. Apple has added a TouchID fingerprint reader for simpler login and Apple Pay, alongside an improved keyboard.
The new MacBook costs more than $1,199, depending on configuration, compared with the previous price of $999.
