The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared a global emergency over the new coronavirus as the outbreak is spreading across the world.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “The main reason for this declaration is not what is happening in China but what is happening in other countries.”

Speaking at a news conference in Geneva Dr Tedros said the virus is an “unprecedented outbreak” that has been met with an “unprecedented response.”

19 countries have confirmed cases of coronavirus, two cases have been confirmed in the UK on Friday morning, 14 in Thailand, 13 in Singapore, 11 in South Korea, eight across Australia and Malaysia and five in France and the US.
