In late 2014 a US Navy pilot flying a Super Hornet whilst on a live mission near Virginia Beach said, he saw what resembled a “sphere encasing a cube” which was one of the many “strange objects” reported in the summer of 2014 and early 2015.
The pilot said the flying objects “had no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes, but they could reach 30,000 feet and hypersonic speeds,” several pilots told the New York Times.
The pilots said, the UFO’s were performing manoeuvres “beyond the physical limits of a human crew” like turning instantaneously.
The Times reported on Sunday that a declassified military video that was made public last March shows two Super Hornet Navy pilots being caught off guard as the UFO with no wings, tail or exhaust plume crossed their flight path at high speed.
In April the US Navy said they are updating and formalising the process by which their pilots can report unidentified or unauthorised flying objects in US air space.
A Navy official told CNN that they do not believe aliens had entered into US airspace however, they had received “a number of reports of unauthorised and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated air space in recent years.”
The statement by the US Navy said, “These kinds on incursions can be both a security risk and pose a safety hazard for both Navy and Air Force aviation.
“For safety and security concerns, the Navy and the USAF takes these reports very seriously and investigates each and every report.”
US Navy pilot Lt. Ryan Graves said he has seen these strange objects with his own eyes and reported this to his superiors.
Following a ‘close call’ with a UFO in 2014 he told the Times he is concerned over safety with his members of his squadron.
He said he feared that it “was going to be a matter of time before someone had a midair” collision.
The Times noted that Lt. Graves and other squadron pilots interviewed wanted to speculate over what the source is over the UFO’s.
One pilot said, “we’re here to do a job, with excellence, not make up myths.”
