Over growing fears of aggression from Russia Sweden has moved their navy to a secret underground bunker built to withstand a nuclear attack.
Some 25 miles form Stockholm there is a huge old cold war underground fortress on Muskö that has miles of tunnels, offices, a hospital with vast docks that can cater for warships.
The head of communications for the Swedish navy said, “The Muskö base is unique from a fortification perspective, it is an underground area as big as the old town in Stockholm.
“The naval command must have resilience and function even under attack, so Muskö is the best option.
“The armed forces need to adapt their operations to meet the challenges posed by the deteriorating external environment.”
