The Southampton school which was evacuated on Monday still remains closed after fears pupils who attend St Mary’s Independent School could have caught coronavirus.
Parents took their children out of the school when it was realised a family with children had fallen ill, with similar symptoms to that of the virus, after they had recently travelled to the “affected” coronavirus region in China.
Following medical checks by Southampton General Hospital the children who are sick are now in isolation at home, which is normal practice. There has been no confirmation that anyone has coronavirus in Hampshire.
Public Health England (PHE) are in touch with the school and are monitoring the situation.
