The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) intelligence report released on Friday warns that Russian forces offensive operations are making further tactical advances.
Russian forces are focussing on operations in central Donetsk and the advances has now brought the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk within around 16Km from the frontline.

Russia are making further gains in the contested town of New York which is threatening the town of Toretsk the MoD said.
The MoD wrote, “The focus of Russian operations almost certainly remains in central Donetsk oblast [region].
“Recent Russian advances have brought the city of Pokrovsk within approximately 16 km from the current frontline. Pokrovsk is a significant logistical hub which supports Ukrainian operations in Donetsk oblast.”
UK Defense Intelligence added, “Russia continues to rely on costly infantry-led assaults to make gradual advances into Ukrainian territory.”
