Mr Kipling sales are doing exceedingly well during coronavirus lockdown

Mr Kipling cakes sales have surged during the coronavirus lockdown says Premier Foods, the company behind the brand.

The food company have revealed that sales were up by around 15% in March, with UK sales surging to 7.3% during the first quarter.

Premier Foods who also make Bisto gravy and Ambrosia custard, said during this “challenging time” they are working at “maximum capacity.”

The company have given their employees two additional days of annual leave with a cash bonus for recognition of £250.

The company said, “Volumes have started to reduce from the exceptional levels seen in March, although are still expected to continue to be higher than average patterns of demand.

“This reflects more meals being eaten at home than usual due to recent measures set out by the government, and hence increased demand for the group’s product ranges.”

The company are expecting post trading profit in the year to 28 March to be “top end of market expectations.”
