Weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office as thunderstorms and heavy rain is to hit the UK from today.
The Met Office has warned there could be heavy flooding as there could be as much as 2 inches of rain falling within 3 hours.
A yellow warning is in place for Wednesday through to tomorrow and there could be disruption to travel, forecasters have said.
Large parts of England, the whole of Northern Ireland and Wales will be affected, whilst parts of the South West come under the yellow warning until the storms move north on Thursday.
The Met Office said conditions will be “mainly dry for many areas on Wednesday, but there is a chance of heavy rain and lightning bringing some disruption.
“There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or perhaps hail.”
The Met Office added, “Heavy showers and thunderstorms on Thursday have the potential to bring surface water flooding in a few places, and disruption to travel.
“Many people may be able to continue with their daily routine, but there will be some that will be directly impacted and so it is important to assess if you could be affected.”
