The French President Emmanuel Macron will send military instructors to Ukraine after and they will visit training centres soon.

Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s armed forces Alexander Syrsky has signed a document which will allow French instructors “to train Ukrainian servicemen.”

Syrsky is hoping that other Western allies will also join Macron’s initiative and the French President has said he will not rule out sending troops to Ukraine.

This comes following talks with the French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu and the Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.

Syrsky said, “I welcome France’s initiative to send instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian servicemen.

“I have already signed documents that will allow the first French instructors to visit our training centers soon and familiarize themselves with their infrastructure and personnel.”

The chief of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin has said that sources in Moscow believe that this could lead to 2,000 French instructors to be training in Ukraine.

The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that this will be met with “negative consequences” which will lead to “irreparable ones,” Tass reported.
