A key ally of Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia has warned Kyiv against using Western supplied longer range missiles.
He said that Moscow’s response may be “anything” and Putin has made this exceptionally clear to the West from the onset since the war started on 24 February, 2022.
Medvedev said that Russia will not set any limits, and depending on the type of threat Ukraine poses, Moscow are ready to use any type of weapon they chose in accordance with their fundamental policy on “Nuclear Deterence.”
The former Russian President warned that US that them sending more deadly weaponry will spark more retaliatory strikes from Moscow’s forces which includes Russia’s nuclear doctrine.

“Our response may be anything.
“The President of Russia made this quite clear.
“We do not set ourselves any limits and, depending on the nature of the threats, we are ready to use all types of weapons.
“In accordance with our doctrinal documents, including the Fundamentals of State Policy on Nuclear Deterrence.”
Medvedev added, “I can assure you that the answer will be quick, tough and convincing.”
Medvedev referenced the Fundamentals of the State Policy on Nuclear Deterrence. He warned that under clause 19 pf the policy Russia can use nuclear weapons, “in the event of aggression against Russia with the use of conventional weapons, when the very existence of the state is threatened.”
The use of conventional weapons does include using Western supplied long range missiles or rockets and other heavy weaponry.
On Friday Putin sent the West an ominous message, warning that those “who expect to defeat Russia” must realise “modern war will be different for them.”
Putin said, “Those who are dragging European countries, including Germany, into a new war with Russia, especially by irresponsibly declaring this as a fait accompli, those who expect to defeat Russia on the battlefield, apparently do not understand that a modern war with Russia will be completely different for them.
“We are not sending our tanks to their borders, but we have something to answer with. And it will not end with the use of armoured vehicles.”
On Thursday the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also sent an ominous message that Russian diplomats are working on something huge to “gain the world’ attention” for an “anniversary” attack as 500,000 Russian troops are ready “at the borders.”
Lavrov told state TV that Russia will come out from the current situation much stronger and will be better able to defend themselves.
Lavrov warned that Moscow will respond to the West sending longer range missiles and said that their support for Kyiv is playing a crucial role in how Russia responds.
