Boris Johnson is the 5/1 favourite with Ladbrokes to become the next permanent leader of the Conservative Party.

Following reports a double coup is on the cards, former Foreign Secretary Johnson finds himself as the 5/1 favourite to be the next Tory leader, while Emily Thornberry is chalked up at the same price to take to the helm of the Labour party should Jeremy Corbyn be ousted.

It’s a 7/4 chance there is a General Election in 2019, or there’s 6/1 on offer that one is called before the end of this year.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “With serious issues rumbling between both Labour and Conservatives right now, the betting is wide open for the runners and riders to replace May and Corbyn.
