The odds on Kwasi Kwarteng stepping down as Chancellor have been slashed to 6/4 today from 11/4 last week after punters backed him to go following a huge policy U-turn.
Rachel Reeves is the 4/1 favourite to replace Kwarteng and become the next chancellor and Mel Stride is next in the market at 5/1.
Liz Truss is 15/2 to step down as Prime Minister this year and her leadership rival Rishi Sunak is the 7/2 favourite to replace her

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “Disgruntled backbenchers and an almighty U-turn is far from what Kwasi Kwarteng would have wanted from his first few weeks as Chancellor and punters have seen enough from him and are backing him to leave this year and causing his price to be slashed to 6/4 from 11/4 to leave his post in 2022.
“Liz Truss is in a spot of bother too and is 15/2 to go this year – just four weeks after being elected by members – as she faces a battle win over both MPs and markets.
“Rishi Sunak, who was declined the chance to be party leader by the Tory members, is the 7/2 favourite to replace Truss after his predictions about his rival’s economic policies have come to life.”
