CBD in black and white

We recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with REAKIRO’s Sam Kearley, one of Europe’s leading authorities on CBD, about all the confusion surrounding the CBD market; it’s legality, and much more.  His frank approach and unparalleled knowledge about CBD and the exploding European market is sure to prove beyond valuable to anyone interested in learning more about CBD and its’ benefits.

1. Tell us your impression of the CBD MARKET at this time?

The European CBD market is still very much in “startupmode” however, we find encouragement in solid growth with the UK leading the way. Market analysts CBD Intel predictsthe three largest markets for CBD in 2019 as 200 million Euro in the UK, 70 million Euro in Germany and 45 million Euro in France. Unfortunately, for the consumer buying CBD is still a bit of a minefield with much of the confusion being caused by the industry itself. This is partially due to the mislabeling and dishonest practices by some of the brands.

2. What’s the biggest confusion you encounter when talking to clients and customers?

That’s easy, “full-spectrum, yes or no”? Just because it is plant-derived doesn’t make it full spectrum! Distillates and other highly-refined extracts only offer trace levels of CBD, while neglecting all of the other wonderful cannabinoids, terpenes and other natural minerals. Some of the most popular brands in the UK are guilty of this, accompanying their so-called ‘full spectrum CBD oil’ with third-party lab reports which display the use of a single molecule extract.  REAKIRO, and the industry at large, believes that true full-spectrum oils provide the most benefits for consumers.

3. What is the most important thing to look for in a supplier of CBD?

Any supplier of CBD should be able to explain in great detail the processes behind their production, quality control and testing protocols. They should share the knowledge and be eager to educate, so be sure to ask a lot of questions! Any potential supplier who cannot, or will not, provide the details of their production and quality controlmechanisms is likely to be hiding something.

4.  What makes REAKIRO special?

We are one of few European producers who can truthfully claim to control the entire process from seed to shelf. As a result, we have a comprehensive understanding of the processes behind CBD manufacturing. While many companies claim this, it often isn’t true. Don’t be afraid to challenge suppliers to provide proof of traceability and seed purchase. If they decline, chances are they’ve been telling porkies!
