Britons returning from coronavirus affected Wuhan in China are to be place in quarantine for two weeks, the department of health said.

It is thought that military bases could be used as an option to hold those travelling back from China.

It is further understood that passengers travelling back from Wuhan maybe asked to sign an agreement before flying back or could be asked to stay if they refuse.

There are around 200 British nationals thought to be stranded in Wuhan, flights are to take place on Thursday.

Matt Hancock the health secretary said, “We are working hard to get British nationals back from Wuhan.

“Public safety is the top priority. Anyone who returns from Wuhan will be safely isolated for 14 days, with all neccessary medical attention.”
